About the SCCT Starter Kit

The SCCT Starter Kit is a unique collection of resources that guides hospitals and cardiology and radiology practices through all stages of starting a cardiovascular CT service. It is available to non-SCCT members for a subscription fee of $300 per year.

Purpose

The purpose of the Starter Kit is to educate about and grow the appropriate use of cardiovascular CT by providing useful resources to healthcare facilities interested in starting a cardiac CT service.

Who compiled the Starter Kit?

The Starter Kit is a project of the SCCT Advisory Council, which provides industry and policy insight to the SCCT Board of Directors. SCCT leaders reviewed the collection to ensure documents reflect the most up-to-date training and credentialing protocols, evidence and clinical practice guidelines.

While the information provided is supported by up-to-date clinical evidence, the Starter Kit does not purport to be a fully comprehensive collection of scientific evidence. The kit aims to provide information that is practical and actionable. It will provide links so that details, lectures, clinical practice guidelines and other sources of information are easily accessible to those who wish to learn more.

Types of resources

The Starter Kit includes Excel pro formas, PDF documents, videos, website links, journal articles, and Word and PowerPoint documents that users can customize. Resources will be labeled as follows:

SE

SCCT-endorsed resources: Materials authored and/or reviewed and approved by SCCT’s leadership to ensure the content reflects the most up-to-date training and credentialing protocols, evidence and clinical practice guidelines and present balanced information. Endorsed resources include scholarly articles, fact sheets, summaries, evidence collections, training protocols, expert consensus documents, guidelines and other materials. They are typically PDFs that open in a new tab.

IP

Industry-provided materials: SCCT has deemed these materials potentially useful to Starter Kit users, but their inclusion in the Starter Kit does not imply SCCT endorsement of all the information therein.

T

Templates — Useful forms, pro formas, descriptions and other materials that users may download and tailor to their institution’s needs as they deem best. They may be Excel, Word or PowerPoint files. Users are solely responsible for how templates are used and altered.
